Spam and Chain Letters.
Attention:
Distributors of Spam and Chain Letters!
Please do NOT send any
unsolicited or commercial mail
to any of our E-Mail accounts or addresses.
In accordance with the
U.S. Code at Title 47, Section
227(a)(2)(B), a computer/modem/printer meets the
definition of a telephone fax machine. It is
unlawful to send any unsolicited advertisement to such
equipment, punishable by action to recover actual
monetary loss, or $10,000, whichever is greater, for EACH
violation.
In accordance with
18 U.S.C. Section 1341 and
39 U.S.C. Section 3005, high-tech chain letters
disseminated over the Internet, or that may require the
copying and mailing of computer files or disks rather
than paper, regardless of what technology is used to
advance the scheme, if the mail is used at any
step along the way, are still illegal.
This is my written warning:
I will
immediately electronically forward
any such E-Mail to: your local ISP, the FBI's and FTC's
Consumer Fraud Offices, as well as the U.S. Postal Inspectors
for appropriate enforcement actions.
