3-1-06	The lower floor and garage are poured and finished off. The pipe fittings for the lower floor are in place. In the corner of the garage a heart appears. The little digger starts work on the sea wall construction.

3-6-06	The foundation/footer for the sea wall is poured and the blocks for its construction are starting to appear. It is mostly a compound arc that has our own little bay built-in. View down the south lot line towards the water, the 3-rock Inuksuk and the vertical stick at mid-beach marks the boundary of our south lot line at the lake.

3-7-06	Ethel & Jim Jackson visit the poured garage floor or our new house.

3-13-06	Finally! Some wood appears at the construction site. Preformed joists, and a load of associated building materials.

3-14-06	Construction has started on the sea wall. The footer is dug and some blocks have been laid.

3-16-06	Crew for framing arrives, finally. Work starts on the framing on the ground floor. Harry starts the North Inuksuk from a "kit" found on the beach. Harry moves rocks while Rita draws hearts on the beach. Then Rita piled up the rocks for the north Inuksuk. Rita works at laying a block for the sea wall.


3-17-06	A second turtle is released at the beach. Framing is actually starting. The well/pump's pressure tank in inserted into the crawl space. Framing progresses on the lower floor. The sea wall continues to grow. Joint is with the Hopkins' wall on the north end, shows "full pool" line.


3-18-06	Cement truck coming down driveway to deliver cement to fill sea wall blocks. Almost tips over. Pumper truck pumps concrete into sea wall. Guys guide hose as concrete is pumped. Lastly they level off the top. Steps insert in sea wall ready for filling. Rita and Alyssa visit the site and beach.


3-20-06	Sheeting begins on lower floor's exterior walls. The lower floor fireplace is framed in! It is starting to look like out plans. Floor joists are being set into place.


3-21-06	A load of gravel is dumped because ALFAC neighbor complains about people parking near his house. Floor joists are completed. Floor sheeting starts.

3-22-06	Floor sheeting is nearly done. Main floor walls are starting to sprout. Vapor barrier plastic covers exterior of walls. House is starting to look like a house! We can see the room outlines snapped onto the floor and interior walls are starting to appear. Sea wall work continues. Digger tool cuts out the vegetation and piles it behind the wall for backfilling. Last two photos: View across the lot before construction started and present view. REAL progress, I'd say!


3-23-06	We received our new Flag for our new flagpole, not yet built. We also make a decision and choose our Front Entry Door.
3-24-06	More wood appears. Walls are sheeted. Walls are being lifted. The beam overhead will be the garage door header. The Great Room Fireplace is framed in. The Garage waits for a wall. More wood is delivered, dumped off the truck. The sea wall minicat is working to level out the backfill.


3-25-06	Framing continues. The sea wall is backfilled to measure the amount of fill dirt needed. House progress seen from sea wall area.

3-27-07	Heavy duty framing in ceiling of trays for Master suite. Ceiling joists are being set. Rita sits on framed bay window. Scaffolding for crew to work on open beamed ceilings. Trays keep up work. View from front with more wood delivered. Trays in Master suite about done. HUGE feel in bedroom. Two Canadian Gooses on beach. Two views of expanding house from lower lawn area.


3-28-06	Framing continues. Great room vaulted ceiling takes shape.

3-29-06	Rafters appear and the roof takes shape. The windows are delivered. The open ceiling beamed ceiling support is covered with a small gable.


3-30-06	The framing continues. The triangular windows are delivered into garage. framing for triangle windows is completed. The windows are installed. The open arches are framed in for the dining room and the foyer pass-through.


3-31-06	Arches appear for the sun room. Stairs are roughed in, and the low angle is very nice. The sun room is fantastic. The view from the foyer into the back and lake is shown. Views from lakeside. Tarpaper is starting to be put onto the roof to make it waterproof. All spectacular!
