01-03-06	More dark fill dirt arrives at site and work progresses on cutting and filling the basement and driveway areas.

01-05-06	Batter boards appear, a couple of truckloads of trees disappear and an outhouse appears - right where the well is to be drilled.

01-06-06	The digging of the footings starts, using chalked lines from the batter boards. Snowstorm... Actually a few flakes.

01-07-06	Footings are mostly poured! We just had to scribe them.

01-11-06	We see some stone front construction we kinda like and upper level footings poured and crew starts unloading forms, and, Two wonderdul lake views!

01-12-06	Erection of forming commences for pouring of basement walls.

01-13-06	The concrete wall fairies made the basement walls appear overnight! Actually they poured the walls last evening and we were not told so we could get photos of the ongoing pouring. Drat. Note scale of basement's height when compared to Rita, in the last photo.

01-17-06	We finally get the drilling to start on the water well. The truck and rig are pretty old but they sure seem to do the job.

01-18-06	Drilling starts through the layers of topsoil and upper strata. Quite a mess but progress is made, despite of Rita's "Drilling Guidance." Our drilling expert, John, is a colorful guy but he has many years experience drilling water wells in this county.
